Seamless Bali-to-Sydney Freight for Australian Retailers

“After importing from Bali for years, we’ve dealt with delayed shipments, missing paperwork and suppliers all working on different schedules. Working with RIM Cargo completely changed that. They coordinated collections from multiple workshops, handled all the export documentation, kept us updated throughout the process, and our shipment arrived in Sydney without any customs or biosecurity issues. It made importing from Bali feel straightforward.”

Importing handcrafted furniture and homewares from Indonesia isn’t simply about booking container space. Our orders are produced by numerous independent artisans across Bali and Java, each with their own production timelines and locations. Having one logistics partner capable of coordinating everything into a single shipment has made a significant difference to our business.
RIM Cargo organised collections directly from each supplier before consolidating everything at their Bali warehouse, allowing our purchases to be loaded into one container rather than arriving as separate shipments. Throughout the process they coordinated with suppliers, managed the export paperwork and ensured every item was professionally packed for international sea freight.
Because many of our products are made from natural timber, Australian biosecurity requirements are always a major concern. RIM Cargo handled the required ISPM 15 timber treatment documentation, fumigation certificates and Indonesian export formalities before arranging sea freight to Sydney. Everything was prepared correctly before departure, making customs and quarantine clearance far less stressful than we’d experienced previously.
What impressed us most wasn’t just the logistics—it was having a team on the ground in Bali who genuinely understood both Indonesian export procedures and Australian import requirements. They anticipated potential issues before they became problems, communicated clearly throughout the shipment, and treated our products as if they were their own.
After several successful shipments, we continue to trust RIM Cargo whenever we’re sourcing furniture, homewares and custom décor from Bali. Having a reliable freight forwarder who understands Australian imports has become an important part of how we operate our business.
